Biles, along with her siblings Adria Biles and Ronald Biles were taken in as infants by their grandparents from Houston. Simone's interest in gymnastics began when she was just six years old when she took a trip with her day-care group to Bannon Gymnastix. Simone remained with Aimee Borman's coaching until 2011. Biles was a winner in the vault and floor exercise at the women's Junior Olympic National Championships before moving up to the top competition levels in the year 2011. Two years later, she dominated the sport. Biles's consistency, her exuberant personality and the level of effort during her four eventsvault uneven bars, balance beam floor workout and floor exercises -- helped to set her apart.
